He is skilled in working with microcontrollers and their peripherals, including SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) and UART (Universal Asynchronous Receiver-Transmitter), enabling him to design and implement low-power, battery-operated biomedical devices such as ECG (Electrocardiogram) monitors, EOG (Electrooculography) devices, and neural spike detectors. His moderate expertise in biotelemetry system design further enhances his capabilities in creating innovative medical devices that improve patient monitoring and healthcare delivery.


As an expert in brain-computer interface (BCI) technologies, Dr. Ud Din specializes in designing and implementing neural electrodes, including flexible neural electrodes and hydrogel-coated electrodes for applications in stimulation, drug delivery, and spike recording. His innovative work includes the design of a neural cooling probe aimed at treating epileptic events through advanced simulation techniques. Furthermore, his experience encompasses neural cell cultures, rat brain craniotomy for neural electrode implants, and calcium imaging of neurons using fluorescent dyes such as CG-1 green, which are critical for understanding neural function and developing therapeutic interventions.

 

In addition to his research achievements, Dr. Ud Din is proficient in utilizing advanced technologies for biomedical applications. His skills in laser cutting techniques allow him to implement intricate patterns on hydrogel materials, essential for various biomedical applications. He is also adept at electrically controlled drug delivery systems from hydrogel materials, enhancing the precision of therapeutic interventions. His expertise in simulation and modeling using COMSOL software supports the advancement of both invasive and non-invasive techniques for electrodes and biomedical devices.

 

Dr. Ud Din is proficient in signal processing with tools such as LabVIEW and MATLAB, which are integral to analyzing and interpreting complex biomedical data.
